The Federal President is the head of state of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Federal President is elected every five years by the Federal Assembly. The Federal Assembly consists of the members of the Bundestag and representatives sent by the federal states.

The first official seat of the Federal President is Bellevue Palace in Berlin-Tiergarten.

When the Federal President accepts the credentials, ambassadors sent out become members of the Diplomatic Corps.
